Description

The 100 ICW8 8″ 2-Way In-Wall / In-Ceiling Speaker from Focal is an installation speaker geared toward the home audio market. Designed for small to medium sized rooms, they can be used in stereo, surround sound, or distributed audio systems. The 100 ICW8 feature Focal’s aluminum inverted dome adjustable tweeter for improved sound dispersion and the 8″ Polyglass woofer for clear and natural midrange. These speakers have a low-profile design and are humidity resistant, making them suitable for installation in any room of the house, including kitchens and bathrooms. Paintable, magnetic grilles are supplied, both round and square, allowing them to blend in with any décor. All Focal speaker drivers are developed and manufactured in France by Focal.

Aluminum Inverted Dome Tweeter
The tweeter developed for the 100 SERIES range uses Focal exclusive inverted dome technology, for optimal energy transfer and limited directivity. The aluminium dome guarantees outstanding lightness and damping to provide a smooth and precise high-end. The ICW8 also allows for the tweeter to be adjusted with 360° rotation and 20° inclination for improved sound spatialisation.
Polyglass Woofer
The speaker driver cones of the 100 SERIES range are made using Polyglass cone technology. The glass micro-balls applied on the surface of the cone make the structure of the cone more rigid, providing a rich midrange register and bass free of distortion.
ODC (Optimum Directivity Crossover)
The ODC optimises the directionality for more homogeneous sound, particularly when listening to the loudspeakers off axis. It also avoids having a shower effect with in ceiling loudspeakers.
Perfect Acoustics
The 100 ICW8 has a three position switch (-3dB, 0 dB, +3 dB) to adjust the treble according to the acoustic environment (reverberation on windows or on tiles for example). Two loudspeakers can be connected to the same amplifier.
Easy to Install
The three mounting brackets with optimised grips ensure a quick and easy installation. The screw system prevents screws from falling out when dismantling the product. The 100 Series products have a shallow mounting depth which greatly facilitates installation.
Installation in Humid Environments
Tropicalization is used on Polyglass membranes to allow the installation in humid environments, such as bathrooms and kitchens.
